What a great day! Amazing what sunshine and finding a lifer can do for the soul. This park is responsible for some of my best bird encounters so far and I've only been here twice. Pileated Woodpecker are big birds but they def are woodpeckers and won't sit still.pic.twitter.com/GnlDdggC9X

We have several of these beauties on our property, I always get so excited when I see or hear them in the yard!

That’s awesome. I knew we had them locally but i’d never even heard one before yesterday. I’m going to have to go back and watch these guys some more. What a great bird.
