just for a clarification, there is no problem of it being in LA. This story is also important to Mexican Americans and it's very real for us even living in the US. Especially throughout the South West and California where we have always been.

One of the scariest things about it is that it’s always located in whatever place it’s told, any place with a river or stream. The kids in my colonia tells me La Llorona haunts the arroyo behind the neighborhood futbol field.

She lived in our backyard as a kid. it was about an acre of a yard and my grandma used to yell "mis hijas" from the porch. it would scare the shit out of us
