As I was leaving the supermarket an older guy with a beard shouted ‘Nice shoes! I should get some!’ I shouted back ‘Thank you! You totally should!’ He gave me a surprised smile like he‘d been expecting me to laugh. Dude, if you want to wear cute heels, go for it.

I’m a trans woman! I get messages from people trying to sexualise me every damn day. How is it that I’m not allowed to take control of that and profit from it with my own defined rules and boundaries?

I don’t sell nudes or anything like that because of how it could potentially mess with my career and day job. But honestly I’d totally do it if we didn’t have a culture that treats that stuff as immoral with potential lasting consequences.

I honestly think it’s so empowering and awesome when trans women take control of their sexuality. It pisses me off that as a community we’re demonised if we want to do sex work, as if it’s not our right to be compensated for consensual sexualisation.

Sooooooo~ guess who just put a deposit down for her very first tattoo It's for April, so a little while yet. I don't think I'm going to say anything about the design until it's on me, but yeah... exciting!

Oh I do want to add I have no push notifications on at all, and haven't for years. Which I *highly* recommend. Social media is a lot less stressful when you check in on your own time, and nothing is nagging you to come look every few minutes.

I finally turned off notifications for people who don’t follow me. I left it on for so long as I wanted a heads up when people are quote tweeting to mock me or try harass me. But I’ve realised I actually don’t give a crap. I’m only here to talk to you, the people who follow me.

I could stop dancing around my spirituality and go all in on my witchcraft, manifestation, tarot, energy, etc. stuff. But I feel like that might be a bit too much of a sudden shift for people who’ve been with me a long time and I don’t want to alienate people really.

Makeup I love, but my skin sucks right now and I don’t think I could say anything unique. Games I’m bored of. Comics I already did. I know I don’t need a focus, but I enjoy having one. It gives me a reason to log on and something to motivate me to write new things on.

Trying to decide what the hell I want to do with my online presence in 2020 and beyond and I’m really not sure. I don’t want to focus on trans stuff anymore, I know that. Writing is fun but it’s not something I want to exclusively talk about...

But when you live in a cisnormative society it’s a little weird sometimes, because my life isn’t running on that same timetable. I’m still finding out who I am when I “should” be settling down. So yeah sorry, I won’t be settling down anytime soon. I’m running on trans time.

Don’t get me wrong, 30 is still young. And whether I live another 50 years or another 5 I’m making the most of being me, and I’ll be incredibly grateful for whatever time I do have

Being a 30 year old trans woman means you get to feel really young and new to your own life, but also really old and like you’ve arrived too late.

For giggles I just tried to wet shave my face for the first time in 5-ish years. I cut myself 6 times after doing one half of my face. So yeah I think I’m a bit out of practice?
