Yes, we should judge people by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin — but that is when we have a true, just, humane society where there are no biases, where there is no racism, where there is no discrimination.
If we cannot reckon with our country's past, how are we to heal as a nation? How are we to move forward so that every person is seen as equal and judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin?
