Driver walked away from being t-boned at 70+mph by the other car. That's a pretty good result. He came off better than the people in the other car(s) apparently.

Lot of people arguing in the comments so heres a summary if you don’t have the time to read them all: The Tesla was designed to come apart at the boot/trunk area to reduce the overall impact on both cars. The part that came off was the trunk not the backseats.

Although it looks like it is split in half at first glance, you can see the rear passenger doors are in tact with the front “half”. Both drivers reportedly alive with minor injuries.
