Another thing that has come out of & is need to tackle the issue of valuing "significant" findings. This requires culture change in the academy. How often have u heard a newbie student (or even seasoned pro) say "UNFORTUNATELY we didn't find signif results.

Far from my field, but a very important issue on which the scientific community should act as quickly as possible to prevent the spread of false information

I am not excited to say that there were similar problems in the raw data of another of my papers - this paper is now retracted too. I know there might be some interest in what's going on so here is the full account of how and why I came to this decision:

What if we dive and we don’t find what we're looking for? Maybe we’ll find something as incredible! Here's what MARE reasearcher, , found in Egypt that gave him a Runner-up (2nd place) in the Royal Society's Scientific Photography contest.

If this doesn't 🔥BLOW YOUR MIND🔥 then, I'm sorry. Take a look? What do you see? A spider 🕷️walking in circles? Well, how about this .... there is NO spider! It is actually the tail of a horned viper 🐍 used to lure prey!

Plot of a p-value, calculated for a simple t-test, for sample sizes of 10 to 2010, when the null hypothesis is true. Because p-values are uniformly distributed, the p-value just wanders randomly between 0 and 1. This is why repeatedly analyzing data as it comes in is not good!

Neighbourly help: In behavioral experiments receive metal tags, which they can then exchange for food. If a bird does not receive a tag, the neighbour often passes on its own and thus forgoes its own reward. That is really cool! 👌

Mind blown. put 3D glasses on swimming cuttlefish to test for stereopsis and it WORKED. Cuttlefish have depth perception through image disparity!
