I get that it was stronger in the other smash games, but anyone that tells you sdi doesn't matter in this game (barring the obvious "oh sdi vs bayo") is lying to you, straight up. Do lab it and see for yourself lmao. I started escaping shit i never thought possible cause of sdi
DLC chars were just letting us know the truth, i definitely have a few SDI applications for specific scenarios vs non-dlc characters ( and i mean more than SDI vs MK uair), a lot of old tech is just toned down, but not useless, same with crouch cancelling.

I got out of fox up air this weekend with sdi :^) Lucas and sonic lose combos when you start SDI'ing, and yeah MK up air is another scenario as well. Crouch cancelling is kinda strange, I've def found it to be more useful making shit - on hit from like 1-10 on fast fallers
