No matter how good or bad his normals are (which they aren’t even that bad so calm yo ass down) his random elements like the random menu random chance of killing with thwack random crits hocus pocus etc have no place in a competitive fighting game

As a player of another char with rng elements, judgement hammer is less rng than everything in hero's menu with the exception of Hocus Pocus which the average person won't have the balls to pick in bracket. Hero is fine

I don’t think any rng has place in a fighting game it’s literally the opposite of anything competitive and hero has more of that than every other character we’ve seen so far combined

Nonetheless i really can’t see how it’s possible that a character can be entirely competitive if any of their design surrounds relinquishing control for the player or opponent

There is no loss of control though? It's not like hero menu mashing is any good, and in times where he gets something nutty at the ledge he has time to leave the menu open, killing randomness through extra time/rerolling.

Also many competitive games have plenty forms of randomness in them that can decide things way more than heroes menu, such as : any card game ever either traditional or trading card, Pokémon, and autochess as a genre

Ok and my personal belief is that if you want something to be competitive you should reduce randomness as much as possible that doesn’t mean something with randomness can’t be fun but if you want a game to be truly competitive I think you should stray away from randomness
