Really agree with this. I know people like to talk about how people get egotistical about their number, but when you create a ladder in and of itself it helps players get a concrete idea of where they stand as an individual. This ofc isn’t gonna apply to everyone, BUT-https://twitter.com/iamkingarc/status/1146079108822159364 …

When growing as a player in smash 4 I was undoubtedly within the top 20-25 range at multiple points in the games life span, but a lot of other people were too. That ambiguity did nothing but serve to make me dwell negatively on my skill, bcs even when I was “climbing”

I wasn’t actually aware of my position. It became detrimental for my mentality, not that this is anyone’s fault but my own ofc. It’s a more individualized take but nonetheless, my take on it

Yeah but it’d be great to know that I’m #12 so I have a driving factor. The shift of a large ladder keeps everyone consistently inspired muhfugga

We moved to 15 :<<< (im all for a large scale ladder like this, theres so much incredible data between that upper part of the bell curve that isnt quite the PR level that happens, but its much more work because the relevant pool of people you would observe is larger)
Het laden lijkt wat langer te duren.
