First, I need you to download these two manuals: https://armypubs.army.mil/epubs/DR_pubs/DR_a/pdf/web/atp3_39x33.pdf … https://usacac.army.mil/sites/default/files/misc/doctrine/CDG/cdg_resources/manuals/fm/fm3_19x15.pdf … There is a lot of overlap between the two and one is an older version. I include the older one because it is more thorough. I hear you. Homework sucks. This homework saves lives

These two manuals form the backbone of current crowd control and riot training for US forces. The army has been doing this longer and more consistently than anyone else. Their training was, in my day, the gold standard everyone emulated. Everyone trained from those manuals.

I am sure there have been updates and revisions I dont know about, but this will be the core on which everything else is based on. We all know the pigs want to be soldiers, so most police departments use some or all of these materials to train.

I am literally begging you to read these manuals. They cover everything in the arsenal from tactics, weapons, intel gathering, psyops to force escalations and what triggers lethal responses. The cops will be sloppier and not quite to this level, but it what they learned.

We dont have to guess at tactics. We dont have to rely on rumour. We dont have to wait to get shot with something to ID it. They literally have an instruction manual. Please, for the love of everything sacred, read the manuals.

In trying to summarize them and make them palatable for twitter, I would just end up copy and pasting into like 50000 tweets. Get this knowledge in your head. Know it as well as they do. Then, start thinking about countering and subverting. Get with your people.

Have the hard discussions about what to do at each level of force escalation. Learn how to confuse and blind intelligence gathering apparatuses. Defang infiltrators and opps. I cant stress enough how important knowing the contents of these manuals are.

Break them into sections, have each member of your affinity group read a section and report back. I don't know. Whatever works to get the contents of these manuals into our tool box and skillset. We dont have to learn by getting shot when they tell us the answers.

This concludes probably the least popular chapter of Insurrection Survival.

Addendum: For extra credit, learn a thing about how Community Policing is a fucked up idea that grew out of Counter Insurgency strategies. http://www.interfacejournal.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Interface-3-1-Williams.pdf …
