It’s so sad!! I used to love to do weekends in that city! It had Great shopping, the Restaurants used to be incredible and farmers market was So great! Last time I went I couldn’t even walk on the sidewalks homeless are aggressive and it reeks of urine. So unsafe. #acityruined

It still has all of these in spades. And they've made actual progress on the homeless situation.

I’m not saying that he has, but there are a whole lot of areas besides downtown that are fantastic places to be. Bottom line- it’s hardly the hellscape that the right wing is fixated on.

Oh God. It’s a city. Crime happens in densely populated cities. And I don’t pay attention to social media to get my knowledge of the city- I do it in real life by being on the ground. The west side and Pac Hts are hardly terrorized neighborhoods.

Not missing any point. You're taking a perspective you get from social media and are using that as a basis for opinion, which in the case runs counter to actual statistics. Violent crime is way down in SF in these last couple of years.https://www.sfchronicle.com/local/article/San-Francisco-s-crime-rates-shifted-16071268.php …

You're literally citing neighborhoods that do not remotely have problems with crime. You're citing nothing but myths that are repeated here, that are not based in reality. Let's be very clear: residential neighborhoods are not where homeless and criminals are going.

Right. Areas where I live are safe. Why? Because I KNOW THE CITY and don't live in the few areas where the crime is centered in! I'm a native SFer, and I'm more than happy to talk about the current situation and historical context. But you're not interested in actually learning.
