Great tool to check your own profile (and twint is a great resource). Personally, my account is obviously not in my real name and that will never change.

germans: security obsessed, fake facebook name, no twitter, no name in email address also germans: your CV should include a photo, how tall you are, where you were born, and your marital status

The worst part? Apps don’t even need to ask permission to access this. However, this pseudo ID won’t be unique since it IS possible two phones out there have all the same specs. But the chances of that are small. A good reminder to take care when creating sock puppets.

A bigger threat is through apps that generate a Pseudo-Unique ID instead of requesting access to your IMEI. These apps read the ROM version, manufacture name, and other phone hardware details to generate their own ID number of you. Kinda like browser fingerprinting.

Following up on yesterdays tweet on phone UDID and IMEI numbers, look for permission requests like “Read Phone State.” Apps that request those permissions can access your phone specific ID numbers and associate accounts across your private phone.

The personal information those apps gather about you can then be matched by your unique ID number across phones. So even if you buy a new prepaid phone, all in cash, you will lose that privacy and anonymity by installing apps connected to your old phone.

Speaking of private phones, apps are a major threat vector to your (and the main reason I don't install many of them on my personal phone). Installed apps can gather the phone number and the unique ID number (UDID, IMEI, etc.) on any phone.

This is a good reminder why you should use a prepaid phone plan not in your name, not use Google, not link your phone to any social media, and constantly practice good digital hygiene.

I would be interested in some and analysis on the accounts tweeting about (#)NeverWarren. Maybe what time zones they are in, their average number of followers/who they follow. Basically, how much of this does think is caused by bots?

Run back Facebook did today. They bought a story in a publication, pretended it wasn’t sponsored, their COO posted it, then when they got caught, they denied knowing anything about it. And what was that ad/story about? Their commitment to stopping disinformation. Incredible.

I agree, this is exactly how deterrence works. Iran publicly put Trump in "D3" so to speak: tailor your response to go right up to the line, but not cross it. Then, give the other person a way out. Question is what non attributable actions may Iran take, likely in Iraq.

Might be a moot point by now but the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) always has good (albeit very basic) cyber security recommendations.
