The Prime Minister and a number of Cabinet members met with the union today at the Office of the Prime Minister. The meeting lasted almost three hours.

At the end of the meeting the Government has maintained its stance that it will close the refinery whilst ensuring that affected employees and the fence line communities are cared for.

Minister Khan: Petrotrin is probably the only company in the world that is not drilling for any oil. The refinery will be decommissioned in December and the focus will be placed on exploration.
