Money and manpower was the issue here, not time. It was a miracle that a relatively small team with limited resources was able to produce such a good game.

Yeah. It didn't help that it launched looking not great. Most people probably don't even know they patched it later and it looked a lot better.

It's the same as the similarly divisive MvC Infinite. Once some folks got to properly light and shade the models they looked much better. It's a shame kof didn't get that visual update because it's also asking the more fun games to watch

Definitely, the models have never been the problem. Lack of proper shaders, poor textures and illumination were the problem, Samsho has proved that improving those aspects makes a world of difference.

Why do you think this is 'unpopular'? The shading in XIV is garbage and buggy. It used to be so much worse before, but SNK just left the work half-finished, and there's this annoying depth of field bug they never addressed.https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1602116335 …
