Hey @elonmusk, is there anything you can to do help with UK's car insurance situation?
For a Model S, I have only been able to receive one quote which is for £20k/year. Other companies won't even give me a quote at all.
Young drivers across the UK suffer so much. #Tesla #UK

20k £? With 2 years of insurance , you can buy anothe Tesla

Right, that doesn’t make any sense. 2k May be realistic, that’s what I kind of expected.

No KFZ/Motor Steuer ;) and with a good driving history (Bonusstufe) i can do under 800€ Cheaper than my old Volvo. But 20K sounds insane ...

A few key things why it’s not insane: He’s under 25, barely any driving experience, sitting behind a car that can go 0-60 mph in a few seconds, Tesla car valued over 75k! These are the most unattractive people to provide cover to. They want him in a 1.5L car or to go away!

Just looked up how much that actually is. For my Audi with 160PS it’s 66 EUR per month that I’ll save with my T≡SLA!!

Thats very cheap. I'm sure Tesla's insurance product will be even cheaper! Given that they tailor it to your driving habits. Like APR on a credit card

That's because EVs are not paying motor tax at all. Try to insure some other 500PS car.

Insuring a car depends on statistics: How many get stolen? How many get damaged/vandalized & at what cost? How many are involved in accidents (respective driver at fault) & at what cost? It's all about how much the car could cost the insurance company & probability of claims.
