also Look at general likability. People always liked obama, would want to have a beer with him. Trump isnt likable but won against someone who was labeled as Medusa.

I think people forget how many of those disapproval were far left folks that would become the Bernie people weighing down Obama's approvals but still voted Obama in '12.

And if Trump is on the cusp of 50 on election day, as O was, he'll win. Problem is he's never sustained more than a few blips at 45/46 (using Gallup.)
