Gallup - job approval 936 days into their term: Obama 40% Trump 41% As bad as Trump looks right now, remember that Obama was *below* Trump at this point and still won.

but Obama was still in a post housing crash economy which started to climb out in 2012.

Obama's approval recovered as the economy did. I...don't think that's going to happen now.

also Look at general likability. People always liked obama, would want to have a beer with him. Trump isnt likable but won against someone who was labeled as Medusa.

When was the last time Trump had an approval rating higher than 47%? Oh right... https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/trump-approval-ratings/ …

The only caveat to this is Obama’s approval numbers were way more fluid than trumps

I think people forget how many of those disapproval were far left folks that would become the Bernie people weighing down Obama's approvals but still voted Obama in '12.

And if Trump is on the cusp of 50 on election day, as O was, he'll win. Problem is he's never sustained more than a few blips at 45/46 (using Gallup.)

Yeah I totally agree, but then again get a few breaks like a decent 3rd party challenge or something and things can break in weird ways
