Gallup - Presidential job approval at this point in the first term: Carter 37 Reagan 43 HW Bush 76 Clinton 51 W Bush 70 Obama 44 Trump 46 Suddenly Trump is higher than Carter, Reagan, and Obama in approval via Gallup. Pretty stunning considering where Trump's approval has been.

Not by polling average. You’re drawing way too much from one poll.

Which is to say, if we're trying to figure out what's really going on, we definitely shouldn't throw out the data. We should instead throw it in the average and see if other data coming in also shows this trend.

He should just wear a hat that day “3.6%” on it. It’s the economy stupid.

Problem with that is, and @realDonaldTrump knows it, the stats were heading in this direction long before November 2016.

I mean his average is still about 42-43 and Obama’s was above 50pic.twitter.com/n4rzjdSLCX

The difference is those other 3 names were not experiencing a booming economy and relatively peaceful time at this point as Trump is. Trump’s numbers should be in mid to high 50s with how well things are currently going. He remains his own worst enemy.

Obama had cult-like support from the media.
