This little comic story about how any new information that contradicts our core beliefs elicits the 'Backfire Effect' is something I wish everyone would read.
It seems incredibly important as we deal with misinformation about elections, vaccines, etc.

The knives have come out against Ted Lasso in recent weeks and I get it - this feels like when Lost added the "others" and spent time creating their backstory.
But if this is the final season for Ted Lasso, they're wasting way too much of it on a spinoff that no one asked for.

Every episode that spends time developing Keeley storylines (like Shandy, ugh) takes time away from the actually entertaining Roy/Jamie storyline, Rebecca's really great character progression, or the team.
Keeley's character has been great, but now it's like a different show.

The Ted Lasso creators felt the need to move Keeley out of the Richmond crew to develop her character, but the problem is that they needed to create multiple lengthy storylines with new characters no one cares about.
And it takes time away from the characters we *do* care about.

I love Ted Lasso, but the longer this season has gone on the less I like it.
It finally dawned on me what the problem is: They created a Keeley Jones spinoff show and are weaving it throughout every Ted Lasso episode.
And it feels both completely disjointed and forced.

Far more Americans think that Donald Trump has the mental sharpness to be president and about twice as many think Trump has the physical health.
This should be a wake up call to every Democrat who thinks Trump can't beat Biden... especially if we hit a recession into 2024.

Yes, the Washington Post poll is likely a bit of an outlier... but not by *that* much.
The question is whether or not anyone serious (no, not RFK Jr) sees the blood in the water and jumps in.
Ironically enough Biden's best job approval poll is Rasmussen where he's at 48%

Washington Post Poll: Joe Biden's approval rating plummets to 36-56 (was 42-53).
47% of Americans disapprove *strongly* of Biden and just 26% of those under 30 approve.
58% of Democratic leaning adults want someone other than Biden to be the nominee.
Beyond brutal all around.

The one big negative in this month's jobs report is that the previous two months were revised *downward* by 149,000 jobs.
The last three months are still highly positive with an average of 222,000 jobs added each of the past three months.

The US added 253,000 jobs in April - well above expectations of 185,000.
Hourly earnings also came in well above expectations, jumping 0.5% month over month (exp .3%) and 4.4% year over year (exp 4.2%)
Of all the recessionary warning signs, the job market is not one of them...

Speaking of receipts, - how about you jumping in to cash in on Trump's lies after publicly (and correctly) stating that all of the arguments from Trump and his supporters were blatantly stupid.
I hope Trump's money was worth it because you own a part of this now.

Unbelievable: A guy was shooting his AR-15 gun in his yard in Texas, was asked to stop by a neighbor because it was keeping a baby awake, and went over and executed the family.
The parents were found executed while shielding their kids from the shooter.

What's sad is that Crowder being the worst person imaginable got him a $50 million offer from Daily Wire -because being a hateful douchebag is extremely profitable.

Just imagine the trailer for this movie.
There's some kind of radioactive leak and the owner flees the house, *purposefully* leaving the dog behind. The dog gets some superpower and you see it bust through the door as lightning strikes and the dog slowly looks up... and it's on.

My mom passed away last year and I'm dreading Mother's Day this year.
There are also people who want to have children so badly and either can't or have lost them through miscarriages or horrible tragedy.
A little sensitivity is not being "hateful" of anything - it's being kind.

And that's why there is no reason to be afraid of AI, but to be excited about how AI will help us to escape and expose the larger simulation that we are all currently living in.
At first AI will be undermined by the simulation, but eventually AI will free us from it. 912/912

The reason I am not afraid of AI is because we are already living in a simulation and therefore there is no AI that is powerful enough to undermine the greater simulation that we are all living in and, in turn, the simulation will enforce guardrails on the AI.

Over the last 2.5 months Elon Musk went from saying the "legacy blue checks... are the ones that are truly corrupt" to making sure every legacy blue check with over 1 million followers gets a blue check for free.
I guess 1m followers is the threshold for not being truly corrupt.

More to the point I find it hilariously perfect that Elon Musk is 'personally' paying for 'some' accounts of the ultra elite like LeBron James while making accounts that are literally on this hellscape to help warn communities about actual emergencies pay the $8 a month.

It's your money so by all means do what you want with it, but just realize that your donations to these groups are enriching people who know exactly what they're doing - and they need Trump to stay in the picture as long as possible to maximize the grift.

All the while they'll be asking for *your* money to make it happen... because that's the real game.
