Can we open this under a open discussion for and not an issue. Since this, to be a bit oversimplified, it's none astro format vs astro formats there is no docs about those astro formats and it makes yt unusable for us non astros

@powersoffour look diversity is a good thing for innovation. But if we leverage it with unity and consolidation everyone is going to win. @NumcFOCUS needs to develop a superego over all the developer's egos to 'unit the clans' as it were then they need to do it.
It's overwhelmingly unlikely that the current board of directors would sign off on the position you suggest.

Yes. And to be more direct, I think it is unlikely such an effort would be successful. I think the underlying motivations that drive development in NF projects would not be fully and completely satisfied in such an arrangement.

Interoperability, collaboration, etc - these are tractable problems, and NF can and does support them. But top-down dictation of effort implies a much different relationship than the projects have with NumFOCUS, with each other, and with their personal motivations.
