You can add location information to your Tweets, such as your city or precise location, from the web and via third-party applications. You always have the option to delete your Tweet location history. Learn more
(mostly because the "donate" button on a project's page doesn't go to the link you sent, it pops up a window on the same page so I didn't know the https://numfocus.org/donate-to-jupyter … page existed)
I don't see it as a big deal for users, was just hard as a developer to figure out that the link exists, but perhaps this is communicated to projects in documentation somewhere? Project Jupyter is just so big that information sharing often breaks down :-)
