Huh yeah I just checked the new (2.x)
@matplotlib default color cycle and it's not very colorblind-friendly. I'm surprised they didn't adopt one of the colorblind-friendly colorbrewer sets

We have done better on continuous color map front (with viridis, cividis, and friends) than with the default color cycle. There was some discussion on the dev-call about starting a top-to-bottom re-think of how we handle / discuss colors that may help with this.

I know this is a hard problem, so please don't take my earlier remark as a complaint! I was just surprised becaus I thought it had been addressed as well. Thank you for putting in the effort!
