This is absolutely true for #NumFOCUS projects. Looking just at #pandas, #Matplotlib, and #NumPy, of 38 maintainers: -32 are unpaid -3 are paid at 10% time -1 is paid at 20% time -2 are paid at 100% time until April 2020 (grant ends) #SciPy2018 #PyData #OpenSourcehttps://twitter.com/NumFOCUS/status/1017417242726862848 …

You should publish some statistics about NumFOCUS sponsorship. Year, type of sponsor, amount, country... If you send me some anonymous data, I'll do it for you.

Thank you, I didn't know about your annual reports. My opinion is that it might be interesting to provide some statistics by country. It could be an incentive to see whether some countries are more or less disposed to sponsor open source initiatives...

We'll look into it! Here's a very fuzzy-data heatmap of "transactions" in 2018, but note that not all transactions represent donated money — some are people signing up as Community Members, which is free. (http://numfocus.org/membership )pic.twitter.com/T384OsoVKy
