I grew up in Northern Ireland during the tail end of the troubles. It's not entirely relatable of course but there's a couple of parallels here and there. We had to dismantle our police force and reform it before we could begin healing - 20 years later it still ain't fixed.
but it did get better - a lot better. It took an awful lot to get there. I hope things in America are closer to the end goal than the beginning, with all the fog it's hard to know. Just thinking of you all from over here in Northern Ireland.
