But that probably ain't gonna happen if you are at the top of the group stage losing 2 series does mean to disqualified for any other upper-division team. What did lower-division teams get for losing only 1 series now?

thing is, you get potentially no rewards for finishing 12-2 in a group, while travelling to the other side of the globe during a pandemic. the whole prize distribution is utter garbage. valve will give probably 70+ mil during TI and you get no prize money for this?

How would you propose to fix it, just extending prizing? I'm slowly coming round to disliking sending teams to LB from groupstages. Had a 4 team GSL group where 3rd place at 1-2 finishes above their group winner in playoffs. Winner finishes with 2-2 record and 3rd place with 2-3.

obviously a more progressive prize pool TI is $40M for 18 teams. It's a joke that coming 9th at a major * gives you $0 * gets you no closer to the TI payday
