Fundamental flaw in a lot of sports and esports - lack of clarity regarding legal frameworks. Esports has flown by the seat of its pants for a long time under the cloud of pseudo-professionalism, but if they want to be taken seriously, and they should, they should set the tone.

the problem is Chinese region is by far their biggest market and their boycott could doom the game, Valve doesn't have power over Chinese community and need to adjust to survive, therefore strict rules are dangerous unless made flawlessly
