    While we're doing many things to work towards a more sustainable future, we're not done yet. Caring for our common home is something we must all dedicate ourselves to because we're running out of time. can help you get involved on campus:

    Since 2008, every new construction project on campus has met LEED certification standards: 95% of building space uses efficient, non-LED lighting (such as CFLs) and 40% of Notre Dame's outdoor space uses highly efficient LED lighting.

    Closer to home, in 2015 the University announced our goal of discontinuing the use of coal by the end of 2020, and cutting our carbon footprint in half by 2030. Both goals were achieved ahead of their target dates:
