From premiering @ Sundance 2019 to a crazy festival run that exceeded my expectations, our film has granted me access to rooms I've worked so hard to peek into. Happy to introduce our film online as a staff pick! Stay tuned. 🧛🏿‍♀️

This Jameela Jamil thing is another episode, a la Jonathan Van Ness, of people “coming out” in cynical & fundamentally commercial circumstances, where queerness is accessed through//seen to legitimize anti-Black and capitalistic practices. I expect we’ll see a lot more of this.

  15. A plethora of genuinely talented people in this world missing that one nebulous variable: opportunity. Which is why I will never understand successful people losing sight of their immense luck.

"I want to make sure that a little piece of the world that I knew...doesn't get forgotten." At times like this I look back to remember why our fantastical stories still matter. We deserve to remember who we are. We deserve to imagine new futures.

When asked why “myth” “belief in magic” rather than reality in her storytelling: Toni Morrison “It’s not possible to constantly hone on the crisis....I regard my responsibilities as a Black writer as someone who must bear witness-someone who must record the way it used to be...”

    There are only 6 kinds of tweet: 1. I feel drunk but I'm sober 2. I'm young and I'm underpaid 3. I'm tired but I'm working, yeah 4. I care but I'm restless 5. I'm here but I'm really gone 6. I'm wrong and I'm sorry, baby

Its also a m*nd f*ck indicative of the schizophrenic experience of being a Black Artist desperate for a check-- used and abused for these vapid, disingenuous agendas...assuming they even hired Black Artists to create this imagery lmao.
