Reflecting on my career and thinking about not producing a certain level or kind of of art. I’ve entered a few spectrums and society of illustrators stuff, and have not gotten into any. I’ve never been considered for any award in any arena. Yet, I’m fairly stable in my career.
It's because nowadays they're not in any way a true measure of success. Print mattered decades ago, and maybe awards did as well. And honestly though, awards for something as subjective as art or illustration seems like a far stupider pursuit the older I get.
