OK. So controversial opinion here, but after watching the first episode of the newly revived Twilight Zone, the charm and timelessness of the original is seemingly absent. I want it to be there, but it's just not.

The original never needed it, and continues to not need it upon repeated viewings. The original Twilight Zone series was something that I grew up watching in reruns as a child, and I like to think that I learned things from it.

Many of the episodes had a "moral to the story," which not much entertainment seems to have these days, so I was expecting that timeless and general audiences charm of the original, and was instead lambasted by language usually only present in shows like the Sopranos or Deadwood.

Side note, I'm not someone who shies away from series, movies, music and stand up comics that engage in the use of George Carlin's 7 words, but the first episode and the series would be better without it. TLDR: Hey Hollywood, not everything needs to be Game of Thrones.
