I should add for those who say this is not that all comparable, that exulting with profanity at a vote to blow up the healthcare system for tens of millions is really not that far from calling for the impeachment of a corrupt president.

"But what about" will always be a weak argument.
-
This is not “what about.” Lots of cursing everywhere. It is about what triggers Defcon 1 in the press corps, and about hypocrisy.
-
I recall the late Sen. John McCain had pretty well known reputation for his ltemper and liberal use of profanity. It contributed to his image as “maverick,” tough navy guy. I guess when conservative men cuss they’re tough. When liberal women cuss they’re disrespectful.

How'd you learn about McSally, Norm? Probably the same way I did -- through the media. Knock off this double-standard silliness. You sound like a playground kid robbed of his Rice Krispies treat.
-
Reported, yes. Subject to hours of discussion and analysis on cable news? No. McSally trailed by an army of journos with mikes and cameras and notepads? No. You are deluding yourself if you think these situations are comparable.
-
Oh, for god's sake, Norm: She said it last night. Of course it's going to have a shelf life into today. She handled it brilliantly at the outset -- admitting it. If she'd have stopped for the necessary -- yes, necessary -- follow-ups today and not retreated, story gone. Tonight.

To be fair, McSally wasn’t talking about an individual. But casual swearing is now OK for Lindsey Graham, and Donald’s name calling is crude and vicious. So...

1. Incredible reach. 2. Whataboutism.
-
I agree, dipshit. Cursing in excitement over taking away people's healthcare is fucking horrendously sociopathic. Cursing in excitement over shit-canning the worst president this nation has ever seen is understandable.

So when Kanye said it in the Oval it was ok? Little time spent on that one...….

Until Republicans censure their own party leader their faux outrage should be foundling ignored - by everyone.
-
Should have been “roundly” not “foundling.”

And how outraged do they get when male MOCs swear???
-
They slobber all over themselves with praise. Check out the comments on the video where Trump calls China "motherfuckers." It's all "real talk" "genuine" "real American" "informal" etc. etc. etc.

How many on the right raised a stink when Trump said there were “good people on both sides” and that “very fine people” marched with murderous Nazis in Charlottesville? That was MUCH MORE OFFENSIVE than a swear word.
