    Join us 06/19, 1-3! Our newest public art project "The Gathering Place", painted w/ the community & designed by local artist Dañetta Evans in honor of Juneteenth, highlights the history of the Underground Railroad, African American quilting & Double Dutch.

    Advertisement includes details of Juneteenth event in Red Green and Black and beside it you see a picture of the Asphalt Art design in bright blue, purple and yellow. The design includes yellow flowers, blue African American quilt designs and purple figures that appear to be jumping Double Dutch.

    CORRECTION to a previous post re: Library Closing for Juneteenth --- Norfolk Public Library is closed on Friday, June 18, in observance of Juneteenth. However, Pretlow Anchor Branch and Jordan-Newby Anchor Branch Libraries will be OPEN for business on SATURDAY, JUNE 19.
