What doe these 1,500 volunteers do? Seems like a 10 person job.

The shared defense of two countries is significant enough to create a bi-national command between the U.S. and Canada. As for the 1,500 volunteers, they really help when it comes to accepting over 126,000 phone calls from around the world (in 2 hour shifts for 20 hours)

The squadron CC can designate another official duty cover, like ball caps for BDUs or presumably Santa hats for Christmas. For those confused, AFI 36-2903 are the air force's dress and appearance instructions.
