Hi John Yes, is aware of several cases. We are taking this to the folks at NIH responsible for the policy. All data will be helpful so ask people with stories about this to email me at jwolfe@bwh.harvard.edu. Confidentially, if desired.

4 experiments and >440 participants later... my first postdoc project! We find that semantic knowledge can boost accuracy of new episodic memories, but the way that it is organized can also affect how those memories are distorted.

What do positional words, three-dimensional shapes, and buried toys have to do with each other? Spatial awareness and spatial relations allow children to locate objects and navigate successfully in their environments.

Smart reply to 's op-ed in WSJ. My 2 cents: the "genetic revolution" Murray is waiting for is never going to get here. Inexorable progress of science is no help if the model is wrong.

The amazing Haroon Popal, along with Yin Wang and myself, just published a super easy-to-understand paper on RSA methods.

“The study of language as it is used in everyday life shows that all languages and dialects have the capacity to describe the world as it is.” Congratulations to linguist William Labov, who will receive Talcott Parsons Prize in March .

Thinking about the recent paper by and on urban grids and navigation skills – it seems Londoners are rather duped into griddy thinking by the tube map, we may fare better if we had to follow the geographically 'true' version (left)

Interesting but another activity condition could help. For example, chatting live? Cooking dinner?

I love visualizations usually but viewing these still doesn’t help me deeply understand N vs S Hemisphere perspectives. Which I have tried to grasp for years!!

Despite all the benefits, there is a downside of non-peer reviewed preprints. There are preprints doing the rounds claiming to demonstrate the Coronavirus is manmade. These have been debunked but how do non-specialists know what to believe? It’s an outlet for fake science news.

Free movement of people is a good thing for the world. My paternal grand-parents left poverty in Britain and forged good lives in Canada. My maternal grand-parents and mother found refuge from the Nazis in Canada.
