We are biological machines. We are more complex, but we aren't magical either. We look at code, we abstract concepts, learn some things by heart. In the end the mechanisms are different - but we try to imitate what we do with AI. I'm not sold on either side being right here.
Okay. In that case Copilot should get a Social Security number and go to school for the next eighteen years.

I would love to see this issue being brought to a court. It's a novel use case for open source software. We didn't really have that on our radar when most of the common licenses were written. IP law experts should put on their gloves and fight this one out.

The problem with this is that when one side is one of the biggest companies in the world, and the other one is thousands of unorganized and anonymous developers, and court case cannot be fair
