It's smart of them to do the first big public copyright-in-ML abuse as a thing where the victims are mostly individuals or very small organisations. They're more likely to get a favorable precedent than they would if they did this to a business of comparable size.

ML raises *so many* legal and ethical concerns, you have no idea. Microsoft is not a small company, we know they must have had many of the same internal conversations about it that we've been party to. Of course, we don't know the outcomes of those conversations.
