Any precedent on images used for training data? For example, can one legally use copyrighted photos to train an ML model that does image recognition and/or creates generative images.

Hum unless I’m wrong ImageNet or GPT-3 have been scraped and live in a grey area of copyright. It’s funny how when it touches the “oeuvre” of developers it’s suddenly more important :)
