the implementation of all major cryprocurrencies right now is based on proof of, essentially, wasteful electricity use. Tor uses only what's necessary to achieve its purpose.

Not really, as they amplify inequality by design, and more importantly, no major system currently uses them, so it's kind of a moot point.
