as awful and vile and harmful as kiwifarms is i have to say i'm with cloudflare on this. i do not want to live in a world where i need goodwill from the societal majority to publish

yeah, that's fair. it just seems like saying that cloudflare is "neutral" here is pretty inaccurate - they're not neutral, they export the speech restrictions and laws of the US to the entire world.

they are only neutral in this one aspect, that is true. many of the choices they make, including not to refuse service beyond the law, are very political. it is my understanding that the us government can and will enforce hegemonial us law upon companies based in the us?

so i am not sure they have much of a choice while they're us-based (which should be worth a conversation), although i found it difficult to find more info on this
