This is genuinely a cool feature, but if the Verge writes an article on this and doesn't mention that this is basically http://anbox.io with a bit more budget behind it (and implemented worse in some significant ways), I'm going to be a bit miffed.

For one thing, on Linux, this doesn't require virtualization; running these apps is likely going to have a HUGE impact on battery life. Anbox is a pain to install, but that could be fixed with, like, a couple of hefty donations to the project.

As always, Microsoft is "innovating" by doing something everyone knew was possible - and had been done by the free software community - with slightly more polish, and pretending it's a breakthrough.
