yeah, for sure. i definitely respect that use case! (and ofc photoshop shortcuts being *really good* for me is one reason they're so bad for lefties or alternate keyboard users) i'm mostly annoyed at people pretending like there's no reason to have grievances with linux/foss

i am actually kind of increasingly inclined to believe that giving the software away for free creates pretty perverse incentives for both FOSS *and* proprietary software

when you are selling software to end-users, there is actually an economic incentive to make them happy; e.g., macs got a lot more user-hostile, IMO, when apple’s business model changed from “selling you macOS” to “app store rent-seeking”

yeah i agree with this actually. this is one reason i think things like Ardour do such a good job - it's FOSS, and if you're the kind of person who can take advantage of that you will, but they still make a lot of revenue from selling to end users

it's proprietary software, but the profit model is focused on making something that an individual gets enough value out of that they actually want to pay you $30 for it!
