why do old people think nobody under 30 is capable of understanding landlines or dialup

i feel like "old technology" is such a meme in and of itself that a lot of people who would have otherwise never interacted with them know about floppy disks, dialup, etc nah, the real "the youngs won't understand" is how airport security just appeared out of the blue
Yeah, can confirm - I don't remember and find it hard to imagine an airport without invasive security theatre stuff. I barely recall a world before millimeter wave devices.

i didn't fly much before 9/11 (family was too broke) but i do have a memory of meeting someone at the gate as a kid now the amarillo airport stops your car before you get to the arrivals/departures curbs
