    Asking for an interview is part of our job and there is nothing wrong with it. But it becomes a bit insensitive when you ignore someone is trying with life to protect his infant daughter and wife against Taliban. That interview can line him up for execution. Be human.

    I recieved over 100 interview requests since this situation unfolded in Kabul. Only a handful of those journalists showed solidarity with my situation. Most insisted on getting the interview. None of them said they'll call someone or relevant authority to help me leave Kabul!

    If we don’t tweet enough, or if you don’t hear news doesn’t mean things are good. Life here is very challenging and many continue to suffer more after May. We are not well in it’s just that there is some calm and less media-attractive scenes.

    Hoping to get hold of a copy soon and glad that Dr came out safely and shared his experience for the world to know what he and many went through in Houthi prisons.

    Prison Time in Sanaa I highly recommend this short, well-written, easy-to-read new book on Yemen. It explains the country's many troubles through the personal story of Dr. Abdulkader al-Guneid during his imprisonment in 2015-16 after being kidnapped by Ansarullah gunmen.

    Good news!

    Egypt reports the lowest number of Covid19 cases in over a year. Official numbers are not accurate but they can give some indication where the curve is going. I remember cases dropped last year in the summer and went back up again later in the year.
