I just went to get my son’s Epi-pen prescription refilled and was told they’re out of stock due to a “national shortage.” ...is this actually a thing???

news today reported medications prices will be going up 6% very soon. so, shortages or intentionally holding back until the date they can charge more? delay would bring in hundreds of millions of dollars more industrywide. I smell a very big rat.

I haven’t had the meds for my narcolepsy for 8 years now, because the GENERIC averages $900 per month. It’s not really a problem, unless I want to drive. Or cook. Or bathe. Or work. Or adult.

Thankfully, I prefer showers, anyway. But I’ve ruined more than one pan/pot, & am dependent on energy drinks (destroying my metabolism, bad for my heart) to stay safely functional during daylight hours.

This is awful and appalling. I’m so so sorry :( That wouldn’t be allowed to happen in my healthcare system, it would be seen as cruel and unethical :( I wish I could do something

One of my coworkers has a friend who lost two of her three daughters to narcolepsy-caused car accidents. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have coped thus far, even if I have gained a lot of weight from the energy drinks. I’m hoping to find a job with real benefits soon.

Please go to the manufacturer's website. They all have programs to provide free meds. My husband got an RX for free for 2 years because it would have cost $2500 per month, more than all our bills combined. We didn't meet the criteria because of income but were able to show bills.

At the time our medical bills were more than 50% of income so the manufacturer waived the income requirement for us.
