We did it! After 4+ years of Twitter Network Layer (TNL) being in use for Twitter on iOS, we are open sourcing it. 📡 It predates Swift so it is Objective-C. But it totally works from Swift, so no worries!

For those following this thread, I have updated the Announcement to link to a forum thread that is open for feedback. Again, I'm sorry for not realizing that "Announcement" posts automatically are locked from replies. Here's the thread for feedback:

...and apple isnt makimg ipad minis anymore. There’s a hole in the market for media consumption device (no games or apps) w/ solid content controls.

Also, — product idea. A tablet that literally only plays plex and maybe netflix, hulu etc. i cannot use an android or fire tablet due to lack of parental controls (if you point to them having controls, you’ve never used them because they are useless).

BTW: not being able to get them new iPad Minis has been a major bummer this Xmas. The oldest is getting harder to buy for and these iPad Mini 1 & 2 devices creek terribly. Am I alone that anything bigger than a mini is unwieldy for kids and will never buy?

I have 3 little girls each streaming a different christmas movie simultaneously from the same Mac Mini on their iPads with Plex. The old Mac Mini couldn’t even deliver 1 movie reliably without frequent stalls. Thank goodness the Mac Mini came out before the holidays!

This has been a long road with a clear vision for our users to enjoy performant and quality images, but we're not finished yet! There is more to come as we keep pushing the reach of media to reach everyone on the globe. 🌏

See the difference comparing images on many other websites to the same image on Twitter. Pinch to zoom on your touch device to see the detailed differences. Upload your photos at 2048x2048 or higher!

Even text-shots can be salvageable with the trick of making the image larger when you upload it. Compare the same text screenshots below, one uploaded in its native 512x360 size and the other enlarged to 2048x1440.

The simple key is to upload with a high enough resolution image. I have helped troubleshoot many dozens of complaints about image quality, & 9 times out of 10 it all comes down to uploading the image at 2048x2048 instead of something smaller like 960x960.

Twitter can showcase the most beautiful and high quality images on social media. Try it for yourself, upload a photo at high resolution and share it with the world 🗺

It specifies that I can use `NSIncludesSubdomains` but I see nothing in the docs about what happens if a subdomain is already explicitly defined in the exception domains. you know any CFNetwork folks that frequent this crazy establishment called "Twitter" to help?

App Transport Security (ATS) question Can I do the following with exception domains? 1) have an exception w/ rules X for 2) have an exception w/ rules Y for 3) have an exception w/ rules Z for *.foo.com
