See Dana Andrews and Linda Darnell in FALLEN ANGEL ('45) on #NoirAlley hosted by tomorrow on #NoirAlley with an encore on Sunday morning.
Conversation
We #NoirAlley old-timers prefer to see Sunday morning as its true time slot. Perhaps we can call the Saturday night show a "precore"? 😀

I remember as a kid in Chicago the news broke she died in a fire in Chicago area. I had no idea then who she was but now of course I do.
At first meet she’s mesmerizing. Get too close and she’ll turn on the snide, slap you down as you're helpless to her hypnotic beauty and, if not careful, her dicey designs. The smart ones just look & chat but Stella’s hard to resist. She gets lonely too #FallenAngel #LindaDarnell

I love this film. It was suppose to be an Alice Faye vehicle, but Linda is the STAR...

Linda Darnell is absolutely the straw that stirs this drink. You are absolutely drawn to her rebellious character's dynamic personality. Faye is reduced a wall paper presence representing the dutiful, moral female symbol.

The ending came across as studio pap. The good for nothing drifter suddenly becomes a repentant, loving & faithful husband? Oh, please. I can't believe Preminger really cooked up this conclusion.

I enjoy Linda Darnell, especially when she portrays a tough, sharpe edged beauty, giving it her best shot to better her station in life.🕶
