I don't miss most barkeeps, or the katzenjammers. It's the bar I miss. You can't hold title to that vinyl stool, it's only a possessory interest, but it is a comfy prop. And if they make a good burger or dog, that's even better.

Not noir enough? Women (Lupino’s character) can be as aggressive and manipulative as men. Noirissima! Some women (Forrest’s character) will do anything their cheating men ask of them, are fulfilled only when they land the men; dark in a different kind of way. Just sayin.’

Good choice, enjoyed the film. BTW 's knowledge is amazing. I could listen to him talk about Hollywood, film noir, newspapers, comic books, sports, or anything else, for hours.

In two scenes Ida Lupino’s character clicks her teeth on the high ball glass she was drinking from. Any special meaning to that action?
Wild to hear that every actor in this scene was drunk for real.

I wish the producer had mixed the cast with lessor known actors. As much as I loved Andrews, Mitchell & even Sanders back in their heydays, they seemed to creak here. The makeup can't hide the hard living & weary energy.
