Fantastic shots of long gone Bunker Hill by the way.

If I had seen this film in 1951 In a theatre I would of called my parents to pick me up. David Wayne usually the comedic sidekick was outstanding in this role.

No one gets out of this unscathed. LA detectives look as bungling, helpless & gestapo-like in M as they did during well-known serial killer sprees like the Hillside Strangler, the Dating Game Killer & Night Stalker. Of course, the blind man is the hero in M
The silent film "M" is very scary because of Peter Lorre's portrayal of a child killer. In contrast, the remake with David Wayne as the psychopath is a more realistic interpretation. Loved your comic relief at the end of the film. Surprise, you can carry a tune!
