From Muscat: for those confused about what happened today in Oman, after the death of HE Sultan Qaboos of Oman: 1) the Constitution of Oman, dictates that the Defense Council meets & invites the Royal Family to decide on who the Sultan will be (according to Royal Decree 105/96)

THREAD ON OMANI SUCCESSION. Sultan Qaboos appointed a Prime Minister in 1970-71 (his uncle, Tariq bin Taimur) and married (briefly) in 1976 but did not have issue. It is the sons of Tariq bin Taimur who are often spoken of as possible successors to Sultan Qaboos.

There is more outrage among Western liberals about the killing of Solaimani than about the millions of civilians in Syria, Yemen, Iraq that him & his proxy militias killed to the extent of painting him as a hero & crediting him for defeating ISIS. Moral bankruptcy at its best!

I love this important initiative by , (). The negative impact of war shouldn't be the only thing that defines us. Let's remember our history and use that as inspiration to reconstruct our future. From the rubble, we will rebuild.
