Laureate William Nordhaus’ research shows that the most efficient remedy for problems caused by greenhouse gas emissions is a global scheme of carbon taxes uniformly imposed on all countries. The diagram shows CO2 emissions for four climate policies according to his simulations.pic.twitter.com/tmxUE6MiLn

Universal carbon taxes cause only universal harm because there is no correlation, let alone causal relationship between CO2 & surface temperatures. CO2 rise follows temperature rise, not the reverse. Logic & science ignored by #climate alarmists & their enabling economists.

Totally, and gullible people like my senior dad, believe him. He's like 80, so I asked him, do you remember how much snow you had as a kid? And how much you have now? Yeahhhh, so what do you think the explanation is? 10 ft to maybe 2 ft...

The irony is that official Ont PC policy until March was in *favour* of a carbon tax. Only changed with leadership change. All their candidates were nominated on basis of a pro-carbon tax position.

You lost me at “scheme”. But getting over that - you want the same carbon tax applied to every country and thus every person EQUALLY? Do ask China & India & Indonesia & say Zimbabwe for feedback at some point eh? Delusional blinkered academic would be first impression....

You mean those countries can't afford it? I think you're forgetting that the money is also equally returned. So an equal global carbon tax would be net positive for poor countries. But I agree it is hard to organize. We can't even convince Manitoba...

That's only if we apply the same price across the globe. And it's really just holding people accountable for the harm they cause others. If you find your wealth transferring, change your behaviour. That's easier for rich than for poor.

Hey your right. I should stop growing food, let people starve and therefore pay less carbon taxes. Thanks for the input Einstein

And the Swedish experiences show that a carbon tax works well in real life too and can be combined with economic growth, see graph of emission reductions in Sweden during the 1990-2016 period. See further at http://www.government.se/carbontax pic.twitter.com/01Z3iYzp5d
