Vague dream recollections of returning to Neuroscience. Would probably have much better chances despite rapidly declining quantitative skills and lack of network. Might try one more round of Philosophy and Religious Studies. Still floating between monasteries, farms, hermitages.

I’ve found my quantitative skills came back quickly after a period of 2.5 years of a job that didn’t require them. I also reapplied to PhD programs after I quit my first one. Had trouble letting it go. I think no matter what you do, it’s important to fully digest why you left.

The same reason that I left my PhD program was an aspect of myself that I refused to see and continued to cause me suffering in the work settings that I chose. Good luck no matter what you do!
